I think it's just that they haven't gotten to New England. One of the really interesting things about the show is that they do film in different regions--it's a great surprise the ways in which a house in say FL differs from one in say Las Vegas. And the ways they are similar (granite countertops, open plan, stainless steel, etc.). And the unbelieveable difference in price. Blows me away. Sometimes, along with guessing which one they'll buy, I try to guess where the houses are. Equally fun. Just have to be in the (not very open plan) kitchen when they say at the beginning where they are that day.
